June Newsletter

"My name will be great among the nations, from the rising to the setting of the sun" (Malachi 1:11).
Perspectives Course, Fayetteville, Arkansas (Jan. 18-27)
It was intense! This 10 day “Leader’s Intensive” version of the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement course brought together missionaries, missions agency leaders, and pastors. It would have been interesting to add up the years of missions experience in the room! We learned much through the teaching sessions, but also much from the interaction with each other. Assignments are all completed, and I’ve already been able to make good use of the course material, both in Uganda and at home.
40 Days of Missions,” Uganda (Jan. 28-Mar. 15)
Twenty Ugandan pastors, evangelists, and missionaries completed this 6 week training in cross-cultural missions, held at Missions Transformation Centre, just outside Kampala. It was good to have PAOC global workers Ken and Marge McGowan as part of the teaching team for the first segment. Some of our church planting students from December returned.  One (aged 69) had gone home and started 4 new churches in January and February! I’ve just reread the journal summaries that students submitted on graduation day . . . with tears in my eyes.  God worked deeply in their lives, taking them far beyond “learning” to deep, life-changing encounters with Him. Some came broken and ready to leave ministry, but left restored. Some received clear calls to peoples and nations who have had little opportunity to hear about Jesus.  All had their perspectives opened to God’s heart for the nations. Pray that He will direct and provide as they take next steps in ministry.
Ministry at Home
I've had a busy schedule in Quebec, before
and after the Uganda ministry. Revival weekend, Good Friday rally, Holy Spirit emphasis, missions convention, women’s retreat, discipleship conference, Sunday services . . . And I’ve preached four times in French!  People have come to faith in Christ; others have been filled with the Holy Spirit. They have been challenged to deepen their walk with God and to take new steps in serving him. I’ve been encouraged to hear so many (from all age groups) express a sense of call to global missions.

Someone who was filled with the Holy Spirit shared this: "While I was praying, Jesus revealed His love to me and showed me that the baptism of the Holy Spirit was a gift of His love that he wanted to give to me. I was completely humbled. I've always known it was important to share Jesus with others. But now I feel like the WHOLE world needs to hear about Jesus and I need to tell them!"
