October Update: Uganda Oct. 25-Nov. 15

September was an excellent month, filled with ministry in Quebec churches. It's good to be a part of what God is doing in this province! Thanks to the churches who hosted me.

Uganda Oct. 25-Nov. 15
It will be a privilege to again work with the leadership of Pentecostal Assemblies of God (PAG) Uganda. I will be preaching at pastors'/church leaders' conferences in four regions of Uganda: Kotido (Karamoja), Adjumani (West Nile), Gulu (Acholi), and Kaberamaido (Teso). Our goal is to strengthen leadership foundations and ignite leadership passion for a greater church planting and missions thrust from each of these regions. In Karamoja, for example, PAG Uganda has set a goal of planting 30 new churches from 2010-2012. This remote and arid area in the northeast lags behind the rest of Uganda in development, and has been much less penetrated by the gospel. The regional conference will help equip and motivate leaders to move forward effectively with their church planting vision. When churches are planted, Jesus comes . . . in and through His people. When Jesus comes, He brings hope and transformation . . . to individuals, families, and communities.
It's not too late to participate financially! Funds are still needed to make this ministry in Uganda fully possible. Please make cheques payable to "Joy Johnston Ministries Inc." and mail to:

Looking to 2011
I'm excited about a Saturday "Children's Missions Day" at Dorion Pentecostal Church in early January. Then January 10-14, I'll be teaching an intensive "Introduction to Missions" course (in French!) at Institut Biblique du Québec. Planning is underway for ministry in India in late January and early February. (Pastors . . . I still have some dates available for Canadian ministry in late November and December!)

Please Pray
  • For Simon Peter Emiau, General Superintendent of Pentecostal Assemblies of God Uganda. He will be having eye surgery in Canada on Monday, Oct. 18.
  • For safety, health, strength, and fruitful ministry in Uganda.
  • For God's direction in planning and preparation for other upcoming ministry.
Thank you for your support, encouragement, and partnership in the ministry!
